Rogue Planet Games is an up and coming game developer with some great new gaming ideas which they will bring to fruition with the new game EXIS. Using tried and true gaming solutions, adding a real time gaming environment, Rogue Planet plans to revolutionize the MMORPG gaming world.

Project Overview

The client approached us to take over his website design after having issues with tow other design firms. His requests, coupled with the demands of the project, changed our role from designers to project managers. We set forth combining the art from numerous artists around the world, animation from another design firm, and audio content to create a gaming website using database features and user interface options.

This “project” forced us to examine gaming industry expectations and specifically the genre to create an acceptable game website to not only the gamers, but the company investors and board of directors as well.

The beginning stage of the website, now complete, will continue with multiple stages including the launch of a user area for gamers to create accounts and user groups to exchange information within the game. The complexity of this project will grow through the final stages of game launch within the site itself as an online browser game.

The particular requirements of my site led me to draw from a vast array of artists and programmers from all over the world who specialized on one or more facets of the overall project - some twelve all told, who at one time or another lent their talents to craft to some portion of the site.

DIF Design needed to take all of these disparate components and meld them into a single, cohesive site that not only looked good but also functioned seamlessly. Our target audience is a sophisticated group, very comfortable with computers and accustomed to high performance graphics. Nothing less than stellar workmanship on every level would do.

But what strikes me most about DIF Design is what I did not hear: "You can't do that."

Where other designers and web professionals simply turned me away or advised that my overall concept was unapproachable even at many times my budget - DIF Design accepted this as a challenge, utilizing their considerable knowledge and expertise, but mostly their creativity and imagination, to produce a first class site that I am proud to call my own.
